Azerbaijani-Turkish “Fraternal garden” was planted in Agali village of Zangilan region

A delegation led by the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey Bekir Pakdemirli, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, visited the liberated territories. Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan Inam Karimov, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Azerbaijan Erkan Ozoral, and other officials attended the visit to the center of Fuzuli, Jabrayil, and Zangilan.

The delegation first visited the monument erected in memory of the martyrs in Fuzuli, laid wreaths and flowers at the monument. The participants visited houses and civilian objects destroyed and seriously damaged in Fuzuli city, witnessed the atrocities and vandalism committed by the Armenian armed forces on the historical lands of Azerbaijan.

Then, the delegation visited Sultanli village of Jabrayil and got acquainted with the preparation work for the sowing process. Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan Inam Karimov and Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey Bekir Pakdemirli watched the process of sowing through seed-harvesting equipment.

Then, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey, a “Fraternal garden” was planted in Agali village of Zangilan. Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan Inam Karimov, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey Bekir Pakdemirli, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev planted fruit saplings in the "Fraternal garden". Apricot, apple, pear, cherries and other fruit saplings were planted in the garden built on an area of 5 hectares. In general, 2620 saplings were planted in the garden.

Recalling that the Homeland War under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev ended with the victory of Azerbaijan, Turkey’s Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli said it would be supported for the development of the agricultural sector in the liberated territories: “We saw great potential for the development of the agricultural sector during the visit. In these areas, plant growing, fruit growing, and livestock was previously given importance. There are opportunities for the restoration and development of the agricultural sector, the construction of the processing industry, energy planning. Support for friendly and brotherly Azerbaijan in the development of the agricultural sector in the Karabakh region will be continued”.

In turn, the Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan Inam Karimov touched upon the agricultural potential of the liberated territories: “The liberated territories have traditionally been among the leading regions for the development of grain growing, plant growing, fruit growing and livestock. On the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, more than 7,000 hectares have been sown. It is also planned to start spring sowings here”.

It was noted that Turkey is one of the countries which has been applying modern technologies and achieving high results in the agricultural sector. Azerbaijan is interested in developing cooperation with the brotherly country in the field of agriculture. It is planned to develop agriculture in the liberated territories with the application of innovative technologies.
