To the farmers' attention: acceptance of applications for a one-time sowing subsidy is being continued

31 March 2021

For the first time this year, a one-time sowing subsidy will be paid to farmers in Azerbaijan. A one-time sowing subsidy is provided to partially compensate for the costs of planting a new garden, in addition to the sowing subsidy for intensive orange, tangerine, lemon, olive, pomegranate and hazelnut orchards, which will be laid or laid during 2021.

Applications for a one-time sowing subsidy in the Electronic Agricultural Information System (EAIS) will be continued until May 31. Between February 1-May 31, 2021, new intensive orange, tangerine, lemon, olive, pomegranate orchards have established or planned to plant a garden during the year for declaring their planting (planted and planned) in EAIS. A one-time sowing subsidy is only given for the mentioned intensive orchards.

The gardens of lemon, orange and tangerine should necessarily be equipped with drip irrigation systems, at least 650 saplings should be planted per hectare. Pomegranate and olive gardens are also equipped with drip irrigation system, each hectare requires at least 450 pomegranate saplings and 330 olive saplings per hectare. Another condition for the pomegranate and olive gardens, which will be subsidized for a one-time sowing, is the planting of these gardens in the agricultural category of soils with a severe salinity, or with a high degree of salinity, or the laying of these gardens on the agricultural lands between 1-20.

The demand for hazelnut orchards is equipped with drip irrigation system and at least 330 saplings per hectare. Another condition for the hazelnut gardens to be subsidized for a one-time sowing is either the laying of these gardens in mountainous or foothills with a height of 200-1500 meters, or the laying of these gardens in the empty lands of the Forest Fund.

Those who have established gardens in accordance with these conditions in 2021 can declare their planting in the Electronic Agricultural Information System to receive a one-time sowing subsidy.

Farmers in case of difficulty in declaring information on the one-time sowing subsidy in EAIS, documents confirming the right of ownership on land, geographical coordinates of the enclosed area into the system, they can apply to the State Agricultural Development Center or “ASAN service” of the region where they live for technical assistance.

The amount of a one-time sowing subsidy was defined as 11,000 manats per hectare of lemon gardens to be laid in 2021, 9,000 manats per hectare of orange and tangerine gardens, 5000 manats per hectare of pomegranate gardens, 4900 manats per hectare of olive gardens, 4400 manats per hectare of hazelnut gardens. In the first four years of the garden, additional sowing subsidies of 700 manats will be paid for each hectare.

Farmers must use the subsidized funds transferred to the card for at least two years. If the card is not used within two years of the subsidy and remains on the card, a warning is sent to farmer about it. If the funds on the card are not used even after the notification is sent, then the farmer will not be subsidized for the next period.

In the autumn of 2021, those who have the plan to plant a garden in accordance with the mentioned conditions should also declare their planting in EAIS until May 31 and especially note that they will conduct their planting in autumn.

In order to obtain detailed instructions, information on the conditions and to assist in the inclusion of appeals to EAIS, the participants can apply to the State Agricultural Development in the region and address their questions to the Call Center (1652).
