To expand the field of fruit orchards with high export potential in Azerbaijan, state support for the establishment of new intensive gardens is being expanded. According to the decision of the Agricultural Subsidy Council, in 2021, Azerbaijan will grant a one-time sowing subsidy for new intensive gardens built on 6 types of fruit plants.
According to the decision, it is planned to grant a one-time sowing subsidy to the hazelnut gardens established in 2021. Hazelnut gardens to be subsidized should be laid in mountainous or foothill areas with a height of 200-1500 meters, at least 330 saplings should be planted per hectare, the garden should be equipped with a drip irrigation system.
The decision adopted by the Agricultural Subsidy Council contributes to the development of hazelnut growing in the country. The construction of new hazelnut gardens has already begun in Shaki and Gakh districts. Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov got acquainted with the construction of a new intensive hazelnut garden in Bideyiz village of Shaki. The area of 320 hectares of hazelnut garden has been cleared of stones, the relevant agrotechnical works have been implemented, the garden is fully equipped with a drip irrigation system.
Later, the Minister was interested in the implemented work in the newly built hazelnut garden in the former river bed in Bilajik village of Shaki and reviewed intensive hazelnut gardens in the stone-cleaned area in the Gashgachay village of Gakh district.
Minister Inam Karimov also got acquainted with the activity of Shaki Regional Agrochemistry Laboratory and the veterinary laboratory, which started its new activity. These laboratories have the latest equipment. The establishment of such modern laboratories in the regions will contribute to the further improvement of agricultural advisory services provided to farmers.
