The first meeting of the Working Group on Azerbaijan-Ukraine Agricultural Issues was held. Elchin Zeynalov, the co-chair of the Working Group on the Azerbaijani side, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, gave detailed information to the participants about the state support to agriculture in Azerbaijan, reforms in the agricultural sphere, application of the Electronic Agricultural Information System, electronization of agricultural services. Noting that there is a great potential for further expansion of agricultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, the Deputy Minister considered it important to hold joint discussions between relevant bodies of both states.
The co-chair of the Working Group by Ukraine, Deputy Minister for Economic Development, Trade, and Agriculture of the Republic of Ukraine Taras Kachka emphasized that the first meeting agenda of the Working Group was rich and both countries showed great interest in cooperation in the field of agriculture.
The issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine in the field of trade of agricultural products, investment making, livestock, plant growing and organic production, winemaking, development of rural areas, scientific researches, and food security were widely discussed at the meeting of the Working Group.
The sides expressed their interest in cooperation on the issues discussed and exchanged views on the perspectives for future cooperation. Within the framework of the meeting, new opportunities for cooperation in the field of agriculture were considered, and it was emphasized the importance of establishing a sustainable dialogue between the organizations in order to expand relations.
