A meeting dedicated to the establishment of the Public Union ”Azerbaijan Flower Producers, Importers, and Exporters Association" was held. The representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, representatives of companies engaged in floriculture in the country, and entrepreneurs were attended at the meeting held at Agricultural Economics Research Center.
Araz Ismayilov, Head of the Department for working with farmers, associations, and cooperatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, said that the country has a great potential for expanding flower production. The great export potential of the flower also increases the interest in this field. The combination of flower producers on a single platform will have a positive impact on their more efficient operation. For this reason, the initiative of floriculturists to come together and establish a public association is commendable, and the Ministry has always supported the initiative to organize producers in the format of specialized associations.
According to A.Ismayilov, the Association to be created will give several thanks to the flower producers, which will allow them to come together regularly to exchange experience and prepare proposals for the development of floriculture in the country. The officials of the Ministry also noted that public-private cooperation will give an impetus to the development of the industry.
Director of the Agricultural Economics Research Center, Firdovsi Fikratzada said that the production of flowers is a promising area with great export potential. As it is profitable, it will also be useful in terms of increasing employment in the country.
Then, participants of the event shared their views on the development of floriculture in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
At the end of the meeting, it was decided to establish the Public Union ”Azerbaijan Flower Producers, Importers, and Exporters Association". After the discussions, the Charter of the Union was approved. As a result of the voting, Javid Akhundov was elected chairman of the Association. In addition, a 7-member Board of the Association was formed.
Documents for the official registration of the Association will be prepared and sent to the Ministry of Justice.
