The next meeting of the Farmers' Council was held in the Ministry of Agriculture

An online meeting of the Farmers' Council was held in the Ministry of Agriculture. Speaking at the event, Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov noted that agricultural reforms under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev were being continued and informed the members of the Farmers' Council about the latest work done.

The meeting touched upon the innovations in the agricultural sector during the current year. It was noted that farmers' interest in agrarian insurance and the project “unit sowing of the unit sector” will lead to the solution of their difficulties and more income.

The members of the council shared their views on the development of various fields of agriculture, including grain growing, cotton growing, intensive gardening, and animal husbandry. The importance of timely and correct implementation of agrotechnical measures for high productivity, agrochemical analysis of land plots, proper use of mineral fertilizers, medicines, and pesticides, timely implementation of measures against pests was emphasized.

The meeting stressed the importance of educational measures among the participants living in the regions. It was noted that the Agricultural Training Center under the Agricultural Services Agency was established in order to improve extension services to the producers of agricultural products. The Agricultural Training Center’s 8 regional sections will be operated. Specialists of regional divisions will make recommendations to farmers on agrotechnical care through State Agricultural Development Centers.

At the same time, the sides exchanged views on the provision of mineral fertilizers, seeds, and machinery,  irrigation issues,  grant of subsidies, and proposals were registered at the event.
