A delegation led by Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov and a Food Safety Agency Chairman Goshgar Tahmazli visited Minsk, the capital of Belarus.
AZERTAG reports that within the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation took part in the opening ceremony of the 31st International Specialized Exhibition "Belagro-2021" held in Minsk.
More than 400 companies from 16 countries, including Russia, Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Lithuania, China, Jordan and others, took part in the "Belagro" exhibition, which was held in the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park as part of the agro-industrial week in Minsk on June 1-5. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, Aleksander Subbotin and other officials attended in the opening ceremony of exhibition.
The members of the Azerbaijani delegation got acquainted with the agricultural products and technique presented in the two pavilions and in the open-air exposition, as well as unmanned agricultural systems, and were interested in the innovations displayed at the stands on innovations in livestock and plant-growing.
Later, Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov and Chairman of the Food Safety Agency Goshgar Tahmazli met with Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus Ivan Krupko.
The issues of strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus in the agricultural sector were discussed at the meeting. The parties discussed the integration of veterinary control systems of the two countries, training in this field, joint research, mutual export of agricultural and food products and other issues.
Recalling the visit of President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to Azerbaijan in April this year and his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev, Minister Ivan Krupko said that the heads of state discussed in detail a number of issues related to the restoration of the liberated territories in Karabakh. In the future, it is possible to use the experience of Belarus in the field of agriculture in the development of agriculture in Karabakh, especially the experience of creating agro-towns.
The sides discussed issues related to the expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the field of agriculture and food security, the development of a joint action plan, the formation of a working group consisting of representatives of relevant agencies of Azerbaijan and Belarus and other issues.
During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation visited the Agrocombinat "Snov", Gritskevichi, Novaya Zhizn OJSC, Nesvizh Baby Food Plant and other industrial enterprises in Belarus.
