Azerbaijan State Agrarian University (ASAU) and Oklahoma State University have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the Dual Diploma Program at the master's level.
Prior to the signing ceremony, the delegation led by Oklahoma Governor John Kevin Stitt, who was visiting Ganja, got acquainted with the ASAU Student House, the new educational building and laboratories. The guests were informed about the material and technical base of the university, opportunities for quality agricultural education, stimulation programs.
Then, an event dedicated to the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation on the Dual Diploma Program at the master's level between the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University and Oklahoma State University was held in the Student Park of the university. Welcoming the guests, ASAU Rector, Professor Ibrahim Jafarov said that his university has been cooperating closely with Oklahoma State University for a long time. The two universities signed a memorandum of understanding in 2019 and a strategic partnership agreement in 2020. The memorandum signed today will allow masters of higher education institutions to receive diplomas from both universities in the first year at ASAU and in the second year at Oklahoma State University.
Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov recalled that the Republic of Azerbaijan and the state of Oklahoma have a tradition of cooperation lasting more than 20 years: “It is gratifying that in 2019, this cooperation began to cover the agricultural sector. Today, we are attending the signing ceremony of an important document that will strengthen cooperation between Azerbaijan and the state of Oklahoma. The memorandum to be signed will have a positive impact on the development of agricultural education, one of the most important sectors of agriculture. Today, our guests got acquainted with our university and saw how much material, technical and scientific potential there is for the development of agrarian education in Azerbaijan. We look forward to the students of the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University going to Oklahoma to continue their education, while the students of the Oklahoma State University coming to Ganja to study here".
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Oklahoma Governor John Kevin Stitt expressed satisfaction with the expansion of cooperation with the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University: “A large delegation came with me during my visit to Azerbaijan. This confirms how much we attach importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan. The visit was very productive and I am pleased to participate in the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation on the Dual Diploma Program at the master's level between the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University and Oklahoma State University. I believe that such cooperation will deepen our relations and make a great contribution to both the Republic of Azerbaijan and the state of Oklahoma".
Speaking at the event, other officials praised the expansion of cooperation between the two universities as an important step, and thanked international organizations and government agencies for their work.
Then, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University and Oklahoma State University on the Dual Diploma Program at the master's level. A photo was taken after the signing ceremony, and Oklahoma Governor John Kevin Stitt and members of the delegation answered students' questions.
During their visit to Ganja, the Oklahoma delegation visited the houses destroyed by Armenia's irresponsible rocket attacks on innocent people and laid flowers in memory of the victims. The members also got acquainted with the activities of the Republican Artificial Insemination Center in Goygol region. The guests were widely informed about the Center's activities, the measures taken to develop livestock in the country, and state support to this area.
