The incoming meeting of the Farmers’ Council was held

The incoming meeting of the Farmers’ Council was held at the Ministry of Agriculture. Speaking at the meeting in July 2, the Minister Inam Karimov said about agricultural reforms under the leadership Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, were in progress and he informed the Farmers’ Council about the recent work.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On the creation of a new subsidy mechanism in the agricultural sector”, the tasks arising from the decree, the rules for subsidizing agricultural production. Participants were informed about the working mechanisms of the “Agricultural Insurance Act” and opportunities for farmers.

A report on the status of issues raised at the May meeting of the Farmers’ Council was also heard, and members of Council shared their views on the course of grain harvest, grain supplies and events for cotton production.

Members of the Farmers' Council, Fatma Huseynova, Yildirim Mammadov, Alibala Salimov, Sevil Osmanova, Rafet Abbasov, Suliddin Mahmudov, Efras Askarov and others spoke about agrochemical laboratory, the needs to establish cooperatives, use of certified seeds during sowing, the electronization of agricultural services and the problems of reclamation.

It was noted that the Farmers’ Council is composed of the leading farmers in the country. Three-quarters of the board is renewed every 6 months.
