An event dedicated to the Agricultural Workers' Day was held

According to the Decree signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, in 2008, November 1 is celebrated as the Agricultural Workers' Day in Azerbaijan every year. On the occasion of the Agricultural Workers' Day, Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov and the staff of the Ministry laid a wreath at the tomb of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honors. The memory of prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was also honored, and flowers were laid at her grave. Then, the Alley of Martyrs commemorated the heroic sons of the Motherland who gave their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and laid a wreath at the “Eternal Torch” monument.

Then, an event dedicated to November 1 - Agricultural Workers' Day was held at the Ministry of Agriculture. A minute of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs of the Great Patriotic War who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov congratulated the participants on this significant day. The Minister said that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev declared the development of the agricultural sector a priority. The agrarian reforms implemented in our country envisage further development of agriculture, and for this purpose the state is taking great support measures. As a result of successive measures, the agricultural sector has entered a new stage of development, and the pace of development in this area continues.

It was noted that the restoration of our territorial integrity in a short period of time under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief opens new opportunities, prospects and tasks for the sustainable development of our economy. Reconstruction works and implementation of infrastructure projects are being successfully continued in our liberated lands. The development of agriculture in the liberated areas has been declared one of the priority areas. "Smart Village" projects are being implemented in the liberated areas to restructure agriculture on an innovative basis. It was noted that this year, as every year, benefiting from the reforms in the agricultural sector, the Ministry will focus on strengthening consulting and information services to farmers, making services more accessible, the use of innovative methods and the restoration of crops in the liberated areas.

Speakers at the event noted that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev highly appreciated the achievements and high results achieved in the agricultural sector today. Then, the Order signed by President Ilham Aliyev on October 30 to award a group of people working in the agricultural sector with honorary titles, orders and medals was read, and the winners were congratulated. Medals were also presented to the employees of the Ministry of Agriculture awarded by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 23, 2021 "On awarding Civil Servants". Employees of the Ministry and farmers, who were awarded the Order signed by the President, thanked the President for the value given.
