On December 28, vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Founder and Head of IDEA Public Association Leyla Aliyeva attended the opening of the first Veterinary Clinic for the territory and equipment with modern techniques in the South Caucasus in Nizami District of Baku.
The Veterinary Clinic under the Veterinary Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture has been built in accordance with modern standards.
During the familiarization, the Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov informed that the clinic located in the territory of the Institute covering an area of 1000 square meters will conduct examination and treatment of agricultural animals, along with domestic animals. A veterinary clinic with such a large territory is being commissioned for the first time in the South Caucasus.
About 20 employees, consisting of private veterinarians, paramedics and laboratory assistants, will work at the Veterinary Clinic. The clinic is expected to provide services through admission, quarantine, inpatient, therapy, toxicology, dermotology, ophthalmology, surgery, ultrasound, X-ray, biochemistry laboratory, as well as primary veterinary care by car.
It was noted that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan signed a Decree “On some measures to improve the services implemented in the field of Veterinary Medicine” dated 22 April 2020. Institutional changes are being made in the field of veterinary medicine in connection with the implementation of the decree. Thus, the future activities of specialists of field veterinary stations providing veterinary services on the basis of state orders will be replaced by contractual transfer to private veterinary service.

Veterinary Specialists who have switched to private service in the second-level Biosafety Scientific-Research Diagnostic Laboratory, third-level Biosafety laboratory, diagnostic and serum production department, equipped with modern equipment will be able to improve their knowledge and skills, and benefit from new and modern knowledge in the field of treatment and Prevention. Along with this, young graduates of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Zoology of the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University will be provided with conditions for further improvement of their knowledge and skills in the clinic.
