Minister Majnun Mammadov met with the Delegation of Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of Agriculture held a meeting with a Delegation led by the co-chair of the Joint Business Council of Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia, Chief Executive Officer of “Al Rajhi International for Investment” Ahmad Ali Al Dakhil. The meeting was attended by Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov, deputy minister Elchin Zeynalov, chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) under the Ministry of Economy, co-chair of the Joint Business Council of Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia Orkhan Mammadov.

Welcoming the guests, Minister Majnun Mammadov gave comprehensive information to the guests on state support to agriculture and reforms realized in the agrarian sector in Azerbaijan. It was mentioned that the agrarian sector has commenced a new stage of improvement as a result of the high attention paid by the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev to the non-oil sector in recent years. The carried out agrarian reforms envisage the further development of agriculture sector, and for this purpose, great support measures are implemented by the state.

The views were exchanged on the prospects of the agrarian sector of Azerbaijan, the government's priorities in the agrarian sector, as well as innovative innovations in this area. Assessing the opportunities of cooperation between the two countries in the agrarian sector, the parties touched upon the issues of increasing the import-export turnover of agricultural products, attracting investments in the agrarian sector in our country. Evaluating the possibilities for the export of fruit and vegetable products of Azerbaijan to the market of Saudi Arabia, the participants emphasized that there is great potential for expanding relations between the two countries in the agricultural field.

The parties mentioned that such meetings play a significant role in the expansion of cooperation and noted that it is important to continue mutual discussions.
