First ARC platform presentation: Young researchers were in Agricultural Economics Research Center

The first presentation of the Agro Researchers Discussion Platform (ARC Platform) were held on October 15.

The presentation was attended by counsellor of the Minister Anar Huseynov, director of the Center, Firdovsi Fikratzade, well-known economist, head of the Center for Economic and Social Development Vugar Bayramov, UNEC lecturer Ibrahim Babayev, as well as young researchers and students from different universities.

Speaking at the event, Firdovsi Fikratzade welcomed guests and young researchers and informed them about the format, goals and objectives of the ARC platform. He noted that the discussion platform for young researchers will be held once a month, and participants will present discussions and interactive presentations on the topics that they identified. The platform, which runs in a free atmosphere, is implemented through a social network.

Anar Huseynov later said that the creation of such a platform is an important step for young researchers to gain experience and improve their knowledge. He emphasized the need for qualified researchers in the agricultural sector and expressed confidence that there will be many researchers on the Platform.

In his speech, Vugar Bayramov noted that information is the most valuable resource today, noting the importance of information and databases for the researcher. A well-known expert welcomed the initiative of the Agricultural Economics Research Center and said that the ARC platform will help young researchers to exchange ideas and benefit from each other's experience.

UNEC lecturer, Ibrahim Babayev said that the agricultural sector was declared a priority by the head of the country and therefore needs educated specialists in agriculture. He said that the ARC platform can also play a role in meeting this need.

Later, a young researcher at the Agricultural Economics Research Center, deputy, chief of food security and state support policy at agricultural sector division, Parviz Aliyev, made a presentation on “Databases for professional research and analysis in the agricultural sector”.

In addition to statistical databases, the presentation provided information on the databases created by the Agricultural Economics Research Center, as well as reports from international databases and answered questions from participants.
