A meeting between the Ministers of Agriculture of Azerbaijan and Turkey was held in Ankara
Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Majnun Mammadov is on an official visit to Turkey. The Minister met with the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey Ibrahim Yumakli within the framework of the visit. The parties discussed the current state and expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the field of Agriculture during the meeting.
Minister Majnun Mammadov mentioned that the Republic of Turkey is a reliable partner of Azerbaijan in agricultural field as well as in all spheres. Both states effectively cooperate in the fields of agrarian research, education, cotton-growing, seed-growing, veterinary medicine, agrarian insurance and others. The Minister said that joint cooperation in this direction will continue more intensively in the future noting the significance of the projects implemented by Turkey in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan in the agricultural sector. The Minister emphasized that such events strengthen relations referring to the importance of joint forums on the agrarian sector with the participation of businessmen of the two countries.
The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey Ibrahim Yumakli said that steps were taken to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of Agriculture in bilateral and multilateral formats, and joint activities were successfully continued to effectively use the agricultural potential of the liberated territories. The Minister said that Turkey has extensive experience in the field of agricultural infrastructure and land assessment and is ready to share its experience in this direction with brotherly Azerbaijan.
Discussions were held on further improvement of the legal and regulatory framework of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, increasing the special share of agricultural products in trade turnover between the two countries, strengthening cooperation in the field of Agrarian Insurance, scientific research and education at the meeting,. The Ministers agreed to expand joint activities in order to make the most of the available potential in these areas. The parties also noted the continuation of successful activities on the cooperation directions agreed at the last meeting of the Azerbaijan-Turkey Agriculture Executive Committee held in Baku and evaluated the preparation work of the committee for the planned 11th meeting in Turkey.
The parties signed a declaration of intent “on cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey on issues of agricultural infrastructure and land valuation” at the end of the meeting. The declaration reflects the intention to explore the possibilities of application of agricultural infrastructure and land assessment activities carried out in Turkey in the Republic of Azerbaijan and to exchange experience. It is planned to create a joint working group in order to ensure the effective implementation of activities in this area.
Minister Majnun Mammadov participated in the tree planting campaign held in the Heydar Aliyev Park in Ankara on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the National Leader, as part of his visit.
