Grain harvesting continues in the Republic. Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov observed the harvesting process carried out by modern mountain harvesters in Jangan village of Jalilabad district.
65537 hectares of autumn grain were sown in Jalilabad district this year. 57337 hectares of crops are wheat, 8200 hectares are barley fields. 70 percent of grain crops in the region are located in mountainous areas with difficult terrain. For this reason, grain harvesting in Jalilabad has been already carried out by modern mountain harvesters for the third year .
New generation" New Holland TC 5.90 HILLSIDE " mountain harvesters were delivered to Azerbaijan in 2020. After the combine harvesters were first tested in areas with difficult terrain in the Jalilabad region, they were given to farmers. 6000 lt. combine harvesters with a bulky large grain hopper and a straw-stubble shaker with 5 keys allow harvesting without loss by 100 percent. These harvesters are mainly involved in harvesting in Jalilabad, Yardimli and Lerik regions with difficult terrain.
Currently, 163 harvesters are involved in grain harvesting in Jalilabad. Of these, 152 are combines owned by individuals and legal entities. OJSC "agroservis" has deployed 11 harvesters for grain harvesting, 7 of which are modern mountain harvesters.
Harvest has already been completed in 75 per cent of crops in the region. More than 154 thousand tons were harvested from the fields. The average yield on grain is over 30 centners.
Minister Majnun Mammadov watched the process of grain harvesting in Jangan village, met with local farmers and informed about the work done to organize the harvest quickly and without losses. Views on the correct selection of seeds for grain crops in mountainous and foothill areas, fertilizer norms, compliance with the rules of agrotechnical care in grain crops, new cultivation methods and other topics have been exchanged during the discussions with farmers.
The Minister also visited the Jalilabad regional representation of” Agroservis " OJSC, Jalilabad regional Experimental Station of the Research Institute of crop husbandry and Jalilabad State Agricultural Development Center, was interested in the organization of work in local institutions and met with employees within the framework of his visit to Jalilabad.
