Minister Majnun Mammadov visited farms in Barda and Agjabadi and met with farmers

Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov visited farms in Barda and Agjabadi districts and met with the collectives of local organizations and farmers.

Initially, Minister got acquainted with the activities of the Barda cocoon-drying enterprise, for the first time he was interested in the incubation of hybrid silkworm seeds, the organization of the production process and supply of wet cocoons within the framework of public-private sector cooperation. It was reported that the private sector was involved in the supply of wet cocoons in Barda and 6 other regions as a pilot project this year. Silkworm seeds were incubated in the farms of the sikworm breeders who will supply wet cocoons, the process of feed supply, delivery of wet cocoons, drying and storage of the product was organized on the basis of foreign experience. In the near future, the process of primary processing of raw materials will begin at the enterprises. It is planned to use this experience in other regions in the coming seasons after discussing the results of the pilot project.

Later, Minister participated in the Agrarian Innovation Festival held at Barda Vocational High School, got acquainted with agricultural technologies displayed at various stands, exchanged views with farmers on the practical application of technologies applied in agrarian activity in the farm.

Minister Majnun Mammadov met with the staff of the Barda State Agricuktural Development Center and got acquainted with the activities of the regional Seed Certification Center and the Regional Agrochemical Laboratory.

Later, visiting Agjabadi district, Majnun Mammadov visited the Karabakh Equestrian Complex and the Agjabadi Seed Processing Factory. Having familiarized himself with the organization of breeding and selection work, conditions of keeping horses and feed supply process at the Karabakh Equestrian Complex, the minister gave his instructions and recommendations. The minister was also interested in the process of receiving, sorting, spraying and packaging of seed material at the Agjabadi Seed Processing Factory.

Minister Majnun Mammadov visited the Agjabadi State Agricultural Development Center, met with the team, exchanged views on the supply of wet cocoons in the region, the progress of grain harvesting, spring crops, the activities of livestock enterprises, preparations for the declaration of winter crops.
